One of our repeat clients from here in Lehighton brought us her 2016 Nissan Frontier, which was in need of a remote start and some accessories. She wanted us to modernize the truck a bit, because it wasn’t even equipped with power door locks. We dove right in to get the truck upgraded and make it easier for her to use.
We started by adding door locks to all four doors. The doors needed special cable-style actuators, and we were able to add some SPAL door lock switches to operate them from inside the truck.
We added a Compustar remote start with a RFX-P2WG15-SS remote package that gives her plenty of range to control the entire system. For convenience, we added a feature to automatically turn on the rear defrost when the temperature is below 42-degrees and she remote starts the vehicle. For safety, we programmed the unit to turn on the headlights after the ignition is turned off and stay lit for 30 seconds to light her path. The horn honks to alert her for lock and unlock verification, and if she ever presses the panic button on the remote.
