A repeat client from Jim Thorpe visited us with his 2018 Chevrolet Equinox to see about getting the windows tinted. The goal was to reduce the amount of heat that gets through the windows on sunny days, and to help the HVAC system in the vehicle operate more efficiently.
We recommended 3M Ceramic IR series window film as the perfect solution. At a 15% opacity, it gives the vehicle an OEM look, but has a layer of window film that provides excellent infrared heat rejection. It also rejects 99% of UV rays from the sun, which makes driving safer and healthier. We also place a visor strip across the top of the windshield to provide eye protection from glare during early-morning and late-afternoon drives.
