The local Ford dealership contacted our team about adding SiriusXM Satellite Radio to a new 2019 Ford Explorer so it would look like original equipment. The new vehicle was not equipped with that feature from the factory. The customer wanted it, but did not want to add something to the dashboard or clutter up the console area of his new ride.
Fortunately, we sell VAIS Technology products, and one of their products — the GSR-FD01 — plugs into the back of the factory radio. It allows full control of the new SXV-300V1 satellite radio tuner that we installed with the factory radio buttons and controls. It allows the SiriusXM channel to show on the radio screen, and even lets the factory steering wheel controls control it, just as if it had been there from the factory.
