Mobile Edge in Lehighton is proud to offer advanced camera systems as part of our driver safety product line. We have seen technology evolve at an ever-increasing rate of speed and appreciate products designed to make us safer drivers. Our lineup of advanced camera systems encompasses 360-degree cameras as well as blind spot cameras.
We’ve all been distracted or stressed about something while driving. Adding this technology to your vehicle will make you a more observant driver.
360-Degree Advanced Camera Systems
If you watch any television, you may have seen an ad that showed a screen in a vehicle giving the driver a bird’s-eye view from above. This is one part of our 360-degree camera system. Our team of certified installers will mount four cameras strategically on your vehicle, one upfront, one in the rear and one on each side of the vehicle. Then we use sophisticated software to “stitch” the images together, giving you the ability to see all the way around your vehicle.
Imagine how much easier it will be to parallel park, or pull into or out of a tight parking space. Remember that crowded parking lot on a Saturday morning? Yep, it would help there as well.
What makes this system even better is it uses the rear camera as a backup camera, making it easier to navigate when in reverse. When you are driving up the road and activate your turn signals, the appropriate side camera comes to life, letting you see your blind spot in the lane you want to merge into.
Displaying the image from the cameras is done one of four ways:
- Integrating with your existing color screen in the dash.
- Replacing your rearview mirror with one that has an integrated LCD monitor.
- Upgrading your existing stereo system to a new touchscreen unit that has a color display.
- Adding a stand-alone monitor – this option is very popular for commercial vehicles.
Blind Spot Camera Systems
Among the features of the 360-degree camera system are its blind spot cameras. If you think that option is all you need for your car, truck, or SUV, Mobile Edge can install a blind spot camera system for you. The image is displayed in one of the four ways listed above. When you activate your left turn signal, you see the image from the left camera. If you activate your right turn signal, you see the image from the right camera. When driving up the road at highway speeds, this technology can truly be life-saving.
