After finding us using Google, a recent client brought his 2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide to Mobile Edge looking for a sound upgrade. He wanted to make sure the music he listened to sounded just as good as his motorcycle riding down the road. After showing the client multiple speaker and amplifier options, he decided to upgrade the speakers in the front fairing and add speakers in pods on the lower crash bar.
We started the installation by removing the front fairing cover, allowing us to replace the factory speakers with a pair of Hertz HEX65SLDG 6.5-inch coaxial speakers. Next, we securely mounted a pair of Hertz HMX65S powersport coaxial speakers in pods, which were then mounted to the lower crash bar.
These new speakers require much more power than what the factory system can provide, so our installation experts added a Hertz HMP4D four-channel amplifier, mounted on a custom-fabricated amplifier rack, inside the fairing as well. As with all our installations, we carefully routed all the amplifier wiring along factory wiring for safety and security. Once the new equipment was installed, we re-flashed the factory radio to be used with the new system.
The client was pleased with the sound upgrade after we showed him our work and how it sounded! If you are in the market for an audio upgrade for your Harley-Davidson, we invite you to contact us or click the red button below to schedule your in-store consultation.
