A client from Alburtis, Pennsylvania, brought his 2007 Freightliner to Mobile Edge for an audio system upgrade. The client wanted to be able to use his cellular phone for hands-free calls and to play music while driving. While the customer was in our store, he noticed that we sell and install sound deadening. After an explanation of what it was and how it works, he wanted to quiet the cab of the truck. With a plan in place, we booked an appointment to transform his ride.
The client chose the JVC KD-X330BTS as its source unit. This digital media receiver doesn’t play CDs, but includes Bluetooth, iPod and Android music playback and allows the client to stream Pandora or iHeartRadio. We also installed a set of Hertz DCX130.3 speakers to improve the sound of the audio system.
To apply the sound deadening, we removed almost the entire interior of the truck, leaving only the dash behind. Several hours later, we finished applying 95 square feet of HushMat, and reinstalling the interior.
The client loves the new stereo and is thrilled with how much quieter the truck is.
