A client from Bangor recently contacted Mobile Edge in Lehighton to inquire about his missing 2016 Chevrolet Colorado CD player. We weren’t the ones who forgot the CD player; Chevy did. More and more vehicles come without a radio that will play CDs. Vehicle manufacturers think that everyone has switched to iPods and MP3 files. The reality is, they haven’t.
We invited the client to our store and showed him several options to add CD playback to his truck. The client chose one of the new AVH-500EX multimedia receivers. This radio includes Bluetooth for audio streaming and hands-free calling and has a USB port to play digital media files, a good AM/FM tuner and – of course – a CD mechanism.
We removed the factory radio and installed the Pioneer unit using a Metra dash kit and iDatalink Maestro radio integration module. The client was very happy with his new radio and Bob took the time to explain how the system worked and help him pair his phone.
