One of our customers from Bethlehem, PA, brought us a pair of Ford trucks for some upgrades. The first truck was a 2016 F450 Dually. The client wanted a full remote starter and security system, window tint, window deflectors and a bug deflector installed. The second truck was a 2015 Ford Transit van that required the same upgrades, a remote starter and security system. The client has a unique application for these vehicles, and we were happy to help with the project.
Full-blown Security and Remote Starter
The remote starter system on the F450 was full featured for maximum protection.
In the F450, we installed a Compustar FT-7000AS controller and paired it with an RF-1WG6-AM remote control that provides up to 1,000 feet of range. Because the safety of the truck’s contents is critical, we added a DAS Motion and Shock sensor. The client requested an FT-TEMP temperature sensor. This sensor allows the remote starter to start the truck automatically if the interior temp exceeds a pre-programmed limit. Finally, we added a DR3400 DroneMobile cellular interface to the truck to allow the owner to monitor and control it remotely.
Truck Accessories
The F450 was going to be spending a significant amount of time in southern states, so the owner asked us to tint the windows with 3M Color Stable 5% tint. This tint also helps to conceal the contents of the truck. We added WeatherTech 82138 side window deflectors, and a 50199 stone and bug deflector to the truck.
Transit Van Upgrades
In the Ford Transit van, we installed the same remote starter and security system as in the F450. For the client, the key component to the use of these trucks is the DroneMobile system. The client installs AV systems in locations all over the U.S. The client leaves the trucks near the next project location. When the person performing the installation needs the truck, the owner unlocks it using the DroneMobile app on his smartphone. The installer hops in and heads to work. The exact location of the truck can be sent to the installer using the app as well, so no time is wasted getting to work.
DroneMobile Fleet Vehicle Management
This client makes great use of the DroneMobile Fleet service from Compustar. He can keep tabs on the trucks – he knows where they are and whether someone is tampering with them.
