A repeat client brought his 2007 Cadillac CTS by for us to upgrade the entire audio system in it, including replacing the radio. The factory system was more than a decade old and simply could not produce good sound anymore. We quickly evaluated the car, discussed some upgrade options and got to work.
We chose a JVC KW-V140BT touchscreen radio to replace the factory radio. The bright screen provides a beautiful interface and potential for a backup camera image, as well as Bluetooth for hands-free calling and music streaming. We selected Hertz DCX130 speakers to replace the factory ones in the front door, and chose a Hertz HCP5D amplifier to provide plenty of power to those and the factory rear speakers. We used the subwoofer output on that amplifier to power two Hertz DS30 subwoofers in a prefab enclosure, and got him on his way with a great-sounding system in his Cadillac.
