DroneMobile has arrived at Mobile Edge. What is DroneMobile you ask? I’ll start by saying that it is one of the most amazing products that I have ever seen in the mobile electronics business! In a nutshell, The Drone allows you to track your vehicle, start it, lock and unlock the doors, and much more right from your smartphone!
The Drone is built by Firstech, the people that bring you Compustar remote car starters and the company that introduced 2-way remote car starters. Mobile Edge has been dealing with Compustar for several years and have found both the products and the company to be in a class by themselves.
Let’s say you want to track the whereabouts of your vehicle being driven by a new driver. With the standalone Drone system, you will be able to see the exact location of the vehicle right on your iPhone (and soon on the Droid and Blackberry). Taking that a step further, you can get alerts when the vehicle travels outside of a preset area, travels too fast, is operating past a specified curfew, and much more.
Where it really becomes incredible is when you pair it up with a remote car starter/alarm system. DroneMobile allows you to start your car from nearly anywhere on the planet, right from your smartphone. Forget to lock your doors? No problem. Just open the app and tell the Drone to lock them. Done! If you have an alarm installed, you can get alerts if the alarm is triggered. A true, worldwide, 2-way remote starter/alarm system. The Drone can be added to any vehicle and works with most remote car starters and alarms.
DroneMobile has many other exciting features and Mobile Edge will be covering them all. We will be installing the Drone in one of our vehicles in the coming week. We plan on doing YouTube videos and blog posts on the many aspects of the Drone so be on the lookout!
Until then, check out this video from Firstech.

I have used Drone Mobile premium for the year and every time I wanted to use the live track feature, it wasn’t the most accurate feature and it only allows you to live track twice during the day. Sometimes the feature didn’t even work. That to me especially for premium plan is a disappointment. My renewal came up this year of 2013 and despite the fact I wasn’t planning on getting another plan from drone I decided anyways to purchase the 3 year basic plan for $99 opposed to the 3 year premium plan for $299 which I would of got but I am not totally thrilled about the product or service. It’s still a cool gadget that you can lock, unlock, and start your vehicle although I have a 2 way compustar alarm to compliment the smartphone app by drone. I personally wouldn’t recommend this product to my friends it’s a complete waste of money in my opinion and is not really needed. But then again, its your money, your choice, you can do whatever you like!

Our site is used to promote a small, family run retail store that has successfully served our community for 20 years. We have sold and installed hundreds of Drone Mobile devices and we have tremendous success with them. As the author of this post, and a more recent post on DroneMobile, I stand behind every word….It is a great product and our clients love the convenience, safety and peace of mind that it offer. We have never experienced anything like you are describing. Drone does rely heavily on a cellular network and I suspect your issue may be because of poor coverage in you area. But that is not for me to say.
Your issues is not with my store.
Your issue is with the facility that did the installation and/or the manufacturer. Or perhaps your cellular carrier. As such, I would refer you to them.
