A client from East Stroudsburg, PA, contacted Mobile Edge about an audio system upgrade he had done on his 2006 Harley-Davidson Road King. He knew he wanted more from the audio system, so he ordered some new speakers and a new radio and attempted the installation himself. After a short time, the amplifier started cutting out. He knew something was wrong, so he contacted us for help. We chatted about the project and scheduled a time to investigate.
As we dug deeper into the system, it became apparent that there were some wiring issues and, more importantly, the speakers he purchased were blown. They were marketed as an upgrade to the factory speakers, but they were only marginally better.
We replaced the blown speakers with a set of Memphis Car Audio PRX57C 5×7-inch components. We fixed the wiring and tidied everything up. All connections are now soldered and wrapped in premium vinyl electrical tape. The wiring is loomed and secured in place to handle vibration from the big Harley motor.
The system now plays good and loud, and doesn’t cut out. The client is happy he called us!
