A client from Summit Hill with a 2014 Ford F-150 returned to Mobile Edge for the next stage in the process of upgrading his audio system. The last time he was here, we installed an Audison AP8.9 bit amplifier. The amp gave him more power and full control over equalization and time alignment for each speaker in the trunk. During this visit, we replaced the speakers in the system.
We installed a set of Audison APK165 components in the front of the trunk. We put the woofer from the component set in the door on an adapter plate, then trimmed it with a foam ring to help couple the output of the speaker to the interior of the vehicle. We installed the tweeter form the set in the factory location in the A-pillar. For the rear doors, we installed a set of Memphis Car Audio PRX572 5×7-inch speakers in the factory locations. We treated these speakers to the same foam trims to optimize performance.
Once we were done, we used the DSP processor in the amp to equalize the speakers to compensate for the acoustics of the vehicle. The client was thrilled with the upgrade!
