A client from Slatington recently contacted Mobile Edge to ask about adding some protection upgrades to his pristine 2018 Ford F-150. After inspecting the vehicle and talking with the client about the areas he wanted to protect, we showed the client some of the popular options we have from WeatherTech, BedRug and Bak Industries. He chose the style of protection that he felt would look best on the vehicle and help keep it looking great. Let’s take a look at what he decided on.
BedRug Polypropylene Bed Liner
The first upgrade was a BedRug truck bed liner to help prevent scuffs and scratches. Unlike carpet and rubber liners that can trap water, the BedRug is woven from fully recyclable and durable polypropylene plastic. The floor of the BedRug is gentle enough to protect your tools and camping gear yet durable enough to keep rocks and building blocks from damaging the vehicle.
WeatherTech Mud Flaps Protect Fenders from Scratches
Next on the list of upgrades was a set of WeatherTech Digital-Fit No-Drill mud flaps. We installed part number 110050 and 120050 flaps on the front and rear of the vehicle to keep stones, gravel, mud and slush off the rocker panels and fenders. The flaps also help protect vehicles behind the F-150 from damage from pebbles and small rocks. The mud flaps use existing fastener locations in the wheel arches, so no modifications need to be made to the vehicle.
Bak Industries Revolver Truck Bed Cover
The final protective upgrade for this F-150 was a Revolver X2 bed cover from Bak Industries. This roll-up hard cover uses extruded aluminum panels to provide protection from snow loads while keeping the contents of the bed secure. The cover can only be opened when the tailgate is unlocked and down, so everything will stay safe. In addition, Bak Industries’ Rotational Locking System allows the cover to be secured in almost any position between fully open or closed, allowing the client to transport large or oddly shaped items.

After a few hours of work, the team here at Mobile Edge had all the protection upgrades installed on this F-150, and it was ready to go back to the client. When he returned to the store, we showed him the components we’d installed and explained how to use the roll-up tonneau cover. He was thrilled with the look of the vehicle and the knowledge that it would continue to look great.
