The owner of this gorgeous 2013 Harley-Davidson Road Glide was referred to Mobile Edge in Lehighton by a friend of his. The client had purchased from audio upgrade equipment on the Internet and things didn’t sound the way he wanted them to. After he talked to Bob, the two went outside to have a listen to the system. Indeed, things sounded wrong, so they scheduled an appointment for further investigation.
The first issue was in the amplifier configuration. Every amplifier has to be matched to the source unit it is connected to for it to produce full power. The sensitivity adjustments on this amp were not set correctly. Further investigation revealed that the new head wasn’t producing the stated preamp voltage. This means the amp has to be turned up even more, which can result in a lot of background noise and hiss. We installed a Sony MEX-M71BT receiver for the client to give him a good, strong preamp signal.
The client was thrilled that his audio system now sounds the way he wants, as well as impressed by our diagnostic skills and experience. If your motorcycle audio system needs an upgrade, drop by or click below to e-mail us.
