Here at Mobile Edge in Lehighton, we are fortunate to have Hertz Audio as a partner to be able to offer our clients a great line of the highest quality audio products on the market. One of the largest growth areas in audio is in the marine and powersports areas. Hertz has recently introduced a line of products to help you take that same great quality sound with you on the trail or on the water.
Hertz Marine Speakers for the Water
The marine environment offers a lot of challenges for any kind of electronics, but even more so for audio equipment. Speakers and amplifiers are subject to a lot more abuse from heat, humidity, salt water and impacts from choppy water. Hertz is up to the challenge of designing speakers and amplifiers that can stand up to all of this, and sound great. They designed their speakers with a santoprene rubber surround and UV-resistant polypropylene cone to take anything thrown at them from the front. They make the basket from a UV- and heat-resistant polymer for a durable speaker. They are offered in two versions of a 6½-inch with the HMX6.5 and HMX6.5 LD – a standard version and one with an optional RGB light kit for a more exciting installation. An 8-inch coaxial, the HMX8, offers fantastic mid-bass when you have the space, and you can finish off your system with some specially designed 10-inch woofers that do not require an enclosure for great bass with the HMS10B.
Amplifiers Optimized for the Water
If the outdoors is hard on speakers, it is even more of a challenge for an amplifier. It needs to be resistant to heat, humidity, salt water and impact from rough waters. Your boat’s electrical system may not be able to handle a large power drain so Hertz builds these amplifiers for efficiency. Many boats also do not have a lot of space to spare, so Hertz has designed a very compact amplifier with a special extruded heat sink to enhance heat dissipation. Built-in crossovers allow us to design a high-end component system with subwoofers and we can bridge both the two-channel HCP2MX and the four-channel HCP4M for system flexibility.
Speakers Designed for Powersports
Hertz also does a great job with the Powersports versions of the line. They have a black polymer basket and grill to look great on your Harley or side-by-side. They are made to handle the mud and rain so they are ready no matter where the road or trail takes you. The Powersports versions are also available in 6½-inch with the HMX6.5 and 8-inch versions with the HMX8S – both with an RGB LED option for a custom installation.
Optimized Powersports Amplifiers
The Powersports amplifiers are built to the same standards as the Marine line, but with an extra emphasis on an ultra small size to fit in the fairing of your Harley. There is a four-channel version with the HMP4D and a mono version with the HMP1D. Again, the four-channel is bridgeable and has built-in crossovers for system flexibility.
