A repeat client from Lehighton recently brought his 2007 Ford Mustang back to Mobile Edge for a radio upgrade. He and his wife said that they needed to replace their original radio because it was intermittently powering up and cycling through the in-dash CD player. They thought this would be the best time to upgrade it.
The client wanted the features that would come with a new Mustang: Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and the ability to add a backup camera. After we discussed the options, the client and his wife chose the Sony XAV-AX8100 as the perfect radio for them. They also asked that we go ahead and install a backup camera to make backing out of parking spaces easier, given the vehicle’s seat and rearview mirror position and size.
Our team started the installation by removing the original radio, taking great care not to scratch or break any of the interior trim panels. Then we used vehicle-specific wiring harness adapters to connect the new Sony unit. We also mounted and ran the wiring for the new backup camera, and connected it to the back of the radio. Once everything was connected, we mounted the radio to the dash and reinstalled the trim panels with the appropriate adapters for fitment.
We were happy to make this vehicle just that much more enjoyable for our clients, and they were also pleased with the new radio.
