We recently had a client from Jim Thorpe walk into Mobile Edge looking to upgrade his 2020 Ford Explorer with heated seats. This was the first time he had been to our store and, as with all our clients, we treated him like family. In discussing his options with him, one of our product specialists confirmed that any seat heater elements we installed would not interfere with the occupancy sensors in the vehicle’s seats.
Once this was confirmed, we scheduled a day for the client to drop off the Explorer so we could install the pads and switches. We used the Rostra 250-1870 seat heater kit. We started by carefully removing the upholstery from the seats so we could install the heating pads. Once that was complete and the upholstery reinstalled, we safely routed all wiring and installed the switches in an easy-to-reach location for the driver.
We then returned the vehicle to the client and demonstrated how to use the seat heaters. He was very happy with the end result!
