When this Lehighton client decided it was time to add a backup camera to his 2006 Dodge Ram plow truck, Mobile Edge was his first and last stop.
The most important thing was to make it safer when using the truck to plow snow during the long Pennsylvania winter, so we decided on a JVC in-dash touchscreen unit with Bluetooth for safe hands-free phone calls, and a nice-size screen to display the backup camera image.
We didn’t stop there. We also added a camera to the front of the vehicle that can be viewed on the in-dash touchscreen on demand. This camera will be handy when hooking the plow up to the truck in one clean shot.

My 2006 Dodge Ram has a radio with the semi circle cutouts on both sides. In the picture there is a rectangular radio. I am assuming that a replacement wood grain dash panel is available that would then fit your backup camera radio perfectly. Is that so?

I live in the PRK (People’s Republik of Kalifornia) so would not be able to drop by. Am guessing that the rectangular radio was either in the ’07s or an upgrade in the ’06. If so I’m thinking that the one with the rectangular cutout should snap into the dash with no alterations. Any problems you can see?
There are likely going to be many options for you. I would recommend that you locate a retailer in your area and drop in with the truck. Backup camera come in many many configurations and a good shop will be able to look at your vehicle, ask you some questions about your expectations and make a recommendation. Best of luck!
Your system seems to be the best I have seen so far for what I want. Any chance you have a retailer out here in Northern CA?
