A recent client from McAdoo found Mobile Edge through our online reviews. He was in search of a radio equipment update for his 1985 Chevrolet Camaro. He had previously upgraded the speakers, but quickly realized he still wanted upgraded features, like wireless Android Auto technology and multiple USB connections. After discussing his options with our product specialists, he discovered he also liked the idea of a larger screen. We recommended the Sony XAV-9500ES multimedia receiver, and the client agreed.
We began the installation by first removing the existing equipment. Since these older vehicles have older trim pieces, we took extra-great care in removing them without breaking or scratching them. We then used a vehicle-specific wiring harness adapter to secure the connections with the new radio. We also ran a dual USB port to the center console pocket underneath the armrest. One port is used for connectivity to the radio and the other is for auxiliary charging.
Once the installation was complete, we showed the client the Sony radio’s features and functionality. The client was thrilled that we were able to bring current technology to his beloved ’80s vehicle.
