A repeat client brought his 2002 Ford F-350 bee farm work truck in for an audio upgrade and window tint. He wanted to get a great-sounding subwoofer upgrade, but wanted to minimize the impact on storage space or usability of the truck. He couldn’t have a negative impact on the work truck’s capabilities just to get good sound in it.
After evaluating the truck thoroughly, we discovered we could install a rack in the back of the rear seat to hold some equipment, which would keep everything out of the way. We disassembled the seat, welded our brackets and rack into the frame of it, and attached two Memphis Car Audio SA110SPD Nanoboxx-powered subwoofers to it. These units house both the subwoofer and the amplifier inside it, which saves space. This allowed us to get some really loud bass and great sound into this truck, while keeping any impact on usability to a minimum.
We also added 3M Color Stable window tint at 35% opacity on the windows to provide a bit of privacy and protection from harmful UV rays for occupants.
