A repeat client of ours from Andreas consulted with our team about a subwoofer upgrade for his new 2019 Ford F-350. It came equipped with an 8-inch subwoofer from the factory, but that wasn’t quite enough for him to enjoy the sound system. He wanted more bass, but wanted to keep the full functionality and space around his rear seat.
We dove right in and decided to install a pair of Memphis Car Audio SA110SPD-powered subwoofer enclosures. These 10-inch subwoofers both have built-in amplifiers and the enclosures are compact enough to allow flexible mounting options in any vehicle. They were the perfect size; in fact, two of them mounted behind the rear seat took up the same amount of room as the factory 8-inch enclosure, so it was the perfect swap.
The sound that these subwoofers produce is significantly louder than the single subwoofer they replaced, and there was no impact on the truck’s functionality.
We also added a bass control knob up front for quick adjustment while the client is driving and jamming out.
