When Curt DeLong stopped in a few weeks ago, while on leave from the military, he was looking for a few additions to his hot 2007 Mustang. We had done a lot of work for him in the past and he was anxious to do business with us again. What he ended up with was a complete audio overhaul. We removed the entire Shaker factory system and installed a system that was more suitable to the performance of the Mustang.
We started out with an Eclipse ANV6620BT installed into the factory radio location. This double din unit looked perfectly at home in the Ford dash. This unit offers high performance audio along with iPod control, navigation and Bluetooth handsfree. It is a perfect beginning for a real high end system.
From there, the signal went to a pair of Memphis SC1.500 sub amps (one for each sub) and a Memphis SC4.55 for the highs. These amps fit perfectly on a custom amp rack mounted behind the back seat. Just fold it down and there are the 3 amps lined up in a perfect row.
Curt needed to have something removable for the sub enclosure since he often carries larger items in his trunk… Because of this, we chose to go with 2 M310D 10″ DVC subwoofers in a custom ported Memphis enclosure. Each of these subs is fed 500 watts from each of the SC1.500 amps. WHAT A COMBINATION! This sub box has got to be the loudest box in the smallest footprint that I have heard in years.
Up front, we removed the factory 5×7 and the factory 8″ mid bass. In the 8″ location, we installed the woofers from a pair of MCSYNC8’s. The fit and appearance was factory. If not for the Memphis logo, you would think that it came from Detroit (or wherever!). The tweeters were mounted on a custom panel in the 5×7″ location. Bob came up with an excellent idea for utilizing this area. The Bluetooth kit required the addition of a speaker or two so Bob installed a 4″ Streetedge speaker on each panel along with the tweeters. These 4″ speakers are only for the Bluetooth system, but offer a perfectly stealth appearance.
The rear fill is handled by a pair of Memphis PR572 Coaxials. Two full packs of sound deadening were used throughout the vehicle. This really made a big difference in the doors. With the big 8″ woofers pounding away, vibrations are non-existent. On the inside of the trunk, opposite the amp rack, we mounted the power distribution (Memphis Connection), the stiffening caps, and the crossovers from the Msyncs.
Mustang Custom AudioInsThe whole effect was finished off with with our EF window tint. The EF tint ensures that there is no reduction in cellular, GPS, or other RF signal transfer.
The end result is a killer system that integrates nicely into the Mustang.
Curt is home on a leave from a tour in Afghanistan. He will soon be back on the other side of the world and we all wish him the best of luck and a speedy, safe return to PA. Thank you for having the courage to do what you do.

This looks freakin awesome. So much so that I am going to do this same build for my 2007 Mustang. Great looking job and well thought out component list.
Cant wait to see your next specialty build!
