Our client from Northampton recently returned to Mobile Edge to talk about some 2016 Ford F-350 accessories. We started a massive audio system installation in this truck recently. You can see the work we did by clicking HERE. The client is still planning the subwoofer part of the project but wanted to add some accessories in the meantime. As always, we worked with him to pick products that would look and perform to his standards.
Ford F-350 Lighting Upgrades
First on the list of upgrades was a set of projector-style upgraded headlights. The client chose Anzo USA replacement lights that include CCFL accent lights and black housings. The new lights are direct bolt-in replacements for the factory light assemblies and don’t require any special wiring. If you have leased an F-350, these are a perfect solution.
The client wanted tail lights that had the same blacked-out look as the headlights. The Anzo USA 311127 LED tail lights fit the bill perfectly. These drop-in replacements feature 24 high-output red LEDs, bright reverse lights and an integrated reflector.
The last upgrade to the lighting was to install a set of Anzo 861074 cab lights. These amber lights bolt in place of the factory units on the roof of the truck. The new lights have a smoked lens but still produce a bright amber light when on.
Replacement Side View Mirrors
Unfortunately, the client had damaged the side view mirror on the driver’s side. We ordered a set of Spyder 9935831 replacement units and bolted them in place of the factory mirrors. The Spyder mirrors include a plug that is directly compatible with the factory connector to make the installation easy. The mirrors extend outwards for those times when the client is towing a trailer.
WeatherTech Side Window Deflectors
We installed a set of WeatherTech 82138 side window deflectors on the front and rear doors. These low-profile deflectors allow the client to roll his windows down about an inch for added ventilation while keeping rain out of the vehicle. The deflectors mount inside the window channel for a clean look.
Motorized Truck Steps
The client wanted a set of side-steps for the truck to make it easier to get in and out of the vehicle. We showed him the awesome Amp Research PowerSteps and he knew right away they were the best choice. The 7613401a step installs up close to the rocker panel of the truck, so it’s out of the way when the vehicle is being driven. As soon as a door opens, the steps extend down. We’ve installed a lot of these steps, and our clients love their performance and reliability.
As with all of the electrical work we do, the power and control wiring for the steps was executed to the highest of standards. All of the wiring is routed safely and secured in place so that it won’t sag or catch on anything.
Rolling Truck Bed Cover
The last of the Ford F-350 accessories was a bed cover. The client wanted something that would protect the contents of the bed while still being easy to open. The Bak Industries Revolver X2 is a roll-up style cover that uses aluminum slats and a patented locking rail system. The cover locks in place and is secured by the factory tailgate lock. There are no visible lock mechanisms that can get dirty or corrode.
The client can roll the cover from either side of the vehicle, and Bak includes storage straps to hold the cover in place behind the cab. When rolled up, the cover is small enough that it won’t affect rear-window visibility.
Ford F-350 Accessories
With everything installed and tested, it was time for the client to return to Mobile Edge in Lehighton to pick up his truck. He loved the way the new lights looked and was happy to be rid of the damaged side view mirror. The PowerSteps worked exactly the way he wanted and the client liked how sturdy they felt.
