A client from Palmerton recently brought his 2005 Chevy Silverado to Mobile Edge for a new radio, backup camera, heated seats, a remote starter and window tint. After inspecting the vehicle, our team worked with the client to choose solutions that met his expectations for features and performance. We looked at several radio upgrade options and demonstrated the differences between the tint films we offer.
Chevy Silverado Radio Upgrade with Backup Camera Integration
The client liked the idea of adding a radio that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. These systems make it much safer to communicate while driving, thanks to their voice recognition functionality. We installed a Pioneer AVH-4201NEX multimedia receiver in the dash of the Silverado and added a compact rear vision camera just above the license plate on the rear of the vehicle to help make parking and maneuvering safer.
The new radio interfaces with the factory-installed Bose amplifier and speakers. We added a pair of Hertz DS 250.3 Dieci-Series 10-inch subwoofers in an enclosure to enhance the bass performance of the audio system. The enclosure fits perfectly under the rear bench seat of the truck.
We installed a Hertz HCP1D monoblock amplifier on one of our trademark steel amplifier mounting racks under the passenger side front seat of the truck. The steel rack bolts attach to the seat mounting hardware locations and secures the amp in place.
Compustar Remote Car Starter System
The client wanted a high-quality remote starter for his truck. After clarifying where the client parks his truck, we suggested the Pro G7 remote starter system from Compustar. The P1WG7-SP includes a pair of four-button remote controls that provide up to 3,000 feet of range. We refer to this as 6x power range because it works from distances six times further away than most factory-installed remote keyless entry systems.
While we were running wiring through the truck for the audio system, we added wires for a set of aftermarket seat heaters. The control switches for the seat heaters are mounted to a carbon-fiber look panel in the dash that also includes a dual USB connection for the new radio.
3M Color Stable Window Tint
The last step in upgrading this client’s Silverado was to install 3M Color Stable window film on the driver and passenger door windows to the match the privacy glass on the rear glass.
When the new upgrades were installed, the client returned to Mobile Edge in Lehighton to pick up his truck. We gave him a tour of the work we performed on the Silverado and demonstrated how to use the new radio and backup camera, remote starter, and heated seats.
