A client from Kunkletown who was referred to us by a friend contacted us to upgrade the radio in his 2007 Chevrolet Corvette with smartphone integration. We discussed some of the features he wanted in his new radio and found the perfect solution in the new Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX head unit.
This radio connects to Apple phones for CarPlay or Android phones for Android Auto. This provides access to phone apps like Google Maps and popular music streaming apps that the driver wants to listen to, with easy access on the radio screen. In this case, it also lets the client use the SiriusXM app instead of adding a SiriusXM tuner, which eliminates the need to install a satellite radio antenna on the exterior of the vehicle.
We wrapped up the install by routing two USB cables to the center console where his phone and other devices can be plugged in and charged out of sight.
