A new walk-in client visited us to schedule a radio upgrade and backup camera installation on his daughter’s 2005 Ford Mustang. The car is a convertible, but when the top is up, it reduces visibility to the rear of the car and near the rear quarter panels. He wanted to make it easier and safer for her to back the car up, and possibly add some new smartphone technology like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the vehicle for added driving safety.
After sorting through some features and preference requirements, we selected the Pioneer AVH-W4600NEX, which offers the ability to use Apple Maps or Google Maps for navigation, as well as show the image from the new backup camera we installed.
As part of our vehicle check-in documentation process, we happened to notice that one of the speakers was not functioning properly, so we took the opportunity to replace the original factory speakers with a new set of Hertz Cento 5×7″ drivers. We finished the installation by placing a USB adapter in the center console for easy phone connection as she gets in the vehicle.
