We performed this car audio upgrade, integration and tuning as a result of our client coming to us seeking better-quality sound with minimal modifications to his vehicle.
No problem. We’re Mobile Edge! We have the perfect solution for that!
The vehicle in question was a 2015 Toyota Avalon. Nice car, crummy stereo. Well, before we got hold of it, that is.
As with almost all newer vehicles that we work on, we left the original headunit in the dash intact and untouched. It is usually either impossible or not worth the trouble to change a modern vehicle’s headunit. The problem of bad sound can be fixed after the unit anyway, so leaving it alone is no biggie.
Prioritizing what we would tackle first, and keeping cost concerns in mind, we also opted to keep the factory speakers. These are decent – there is definitely still room for upgrades and improvements with aftermarket speakers, but they are still viable with proper amplification and exceptional tuning.
We added in a unique and special amplifier – the AP8.9 bit. Formulated in the Audison Car Audio R&D department, this device combines a powerful amplifier with a digital processor. With this single unit, we can clearly amplify an audio signal and also correct the signal’s equalization, arrival time and crossover points. Doing this alone made a night-and-day difference in the factory setup of this Avalon. The results were unbelievable. Our client was blown away by the improvement this little addition accomplished.
Does your car need a big-time audio boost and retune, but you want to keep modifications and additions to your factory stereo as minimal as possible? This amplifier/processor combo is an excellent solution, and our sound experts at Mobile Edge can make it perform exactly to fit your needs.

Hey I have this car and I would like to do the same thing to it with a dsp. With the dsp did you stop using some of the factory speakers? Because there is more than 8 i believe. I would appreciate any information you can give me about what you did and added to the car. And help deciding what dsp I want.
