Staff Changes at Mobile Edge

Mobile Edge in Lehighton, PA, is undergoing several staff changes that are taking effect this week. Our long-time general manager, Bob Mickonis, is leaving the company and moving to Virginia. Mike Oechsner is assuming the position of general manager of the store.

Farewell to Bob Mickonis

Bob joined Mobile Edge about 15 years ago as an installation technician. Shortly afterward, as we introduced window tinting to our services, Bob stepped up and became our head window tint installation specialist.

Over the years, Bob joined me at industry events such as Knowledgefest, where we both learned more about system design, product features and customer service techniques. We worked together to implement these teachings to enhance the services we offer and improve the way we take care of our clients. Winning the Mobile Electronics Magazine Retailer of the Year Award in 2010 punctuated the combined efforts of Bob and team.

In 2013, I decided to start a second company. Bob stepped up again and accepted the position of general manager for Mobile Edge. His enthusiasm for the industry and willingness to listen were an instant hit with clients.

In the spring of this year, Bob let us know that his family was looking for a change of pace. Bob, Kelly and their son Robby always wanted to live near the ocean. A few months later, Bob accepted an opportunity with another Retailer of the Year award winner: Sound Wave Customs in Virginia Beach.

We wish Bob and his family only the very best in their adventure in Virginia and with his new job. Bob has been an important part of the Mobile Edge family, and we can’t thank him enough for his support, dedication and contributions over the years.

Mike joined Mobile Edge in 2012 with 11 years of experience in the industry. He has run the installation department for the past five years. Mike will assume the position of general manager for the store and oversee day-to-day operations and customer service. We look forward to having Mike lead the team into the future, and we know he’ll do a great job!
