Today was “Take A Kid To Work Day”. Actually, it was “Take Your Kid to Work Day,” but since I don’t have a kid, I borrowed one! Garrett Hall is my cousin’s son. He is 14 years old, over 6 foot tall and very personable and polite. It was right up his alley to spend a day working at the car stereo shop.
We started out the day running errands and installing a volume control at a theater customer’s house. We sent out a large mailing at the local post office and stopped at the hardware store for supplies. We got to the store and Garrett was busy manning the phones. He changed our sign out front and helped out in the install bay.. Well, he observed in the install bay.
Overall, we had a great day and I think that he left the shop with a little bit of a perspective on how the “real world” functions.
