A repeat client from Tamaqua brought his new 2022 Toyota Tacoma to Mobile Edge for a remote starter upgrade. He wanted a simple solution for remote start, since the truck didn’t come with it from the factory. After talking to our product specialists, he decided to add a one-button key fob to his factory key set, which will allow him to start the vehicle remotely while keeping keyless access to truck. Otherwise, the factory keyless entry does not function while the truck’s ignition is on.
Typically, we suggest a system that has a remote with independent buttons to control each function. However, this client preferred the smaller, one-button remote.
We went to work to install the Compustar remote starter system. We started by removing the necessary interior panels to tuck away the control module. We carefully routed all the wiring and securely connected the system to the vehicle, including the receiver module right next to the rear view mirror on the front windshield.
Once the installation was complete, we returned the truck to the client and demonstrated how to operate the system. The client was happy with the final result.
