A client from Tamaqua dropped by Mobile Edge in Lehighton to have the stereo system in the 2003 Nissan 350Z he purchased recently checked out. As with many cars of this era, it’s had more than one person working on the stereo. The owner asked us to go through the system wiring and install new amplifiers and rear speakers.
Before starting work, we wrapped the rear bumper and fenders in heavy-duty vehicle shipping tape to ensure we wouldn’t damage the custom paint job.
The trunk opening of the 350Z is quite high, so we knew we would have to lean over the edge to get all the work done. We removed the radio from the dash and redid all the wiring to tidy it up. We ran new interconnects, power wire and speaker wire to the trunk. We created one of our trademark steel amp racks for a pair of Memphis Car Audio amplifiers. A four-channel amp will power the front and new Pioneer rear speakers and added a monoblock to power a subwoofer.
The client was happy with our clean-up and likes the way the car sounds. If your car needs an overhaul, drop by – we’d be happy to help.
