A client from Tamaqua, PA, contacted Mobile Edge about doing some upgrades to his 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee including adding a remote start. He had some long-term plans for it, but wanted to split up the work to make things easier on his budget.
We started the project by installing a factory-style remote starter. This type of remote starter uses the factory key fob to activate the system. All he has to do is press the Lock button three times in quick succession, and the truck will start. For added range, we installed a DroneMobile so he can use the app on his smartphone to operate the remote.
We installed a Rostra Mini Wedge camera and Nav-TV backup camera interface. This system acts just as if it came from the factory, displaying the camera image on the factory radio display as soon as the transmission is in reverse.
To finish off Round One, we tinted the driver and passenger windows with 3M Color Stable 20% to match the remainder of the windows. A set of AVS Vent Shades lets the driver open the windows a bit without allowing rain to get in.
The client was very pleased with Round One.
